Site update

08/07/06 Lots of SMD page updates (and a few corrections) and another new link has been added on the Links page.
Many thanks once again to all those who have contributed over the last 6 months.

21/01/06 A very happy new year to everybody and to make it a little happier for everyone I have been updating more of the SMD Code Marking pages.
I have switched back to my trusty old email address, as I have been having problems since the start of the new year with the superihost one. If you have emailed me within the last month and I have not replied to you it is probably because I never received the email. Please email me again to the address at the bottom of the page.

29/10/05 Finally I have completed my second major update of the SMD Marking Codes pages. There are now nearly twice as many codes listed here than on any other site, nearly 10,000 in fact. Please check it out and don’t forget to bookmark this site if you haven't already.

02/09/05 Finally I have completed my first major update of the SMD Marking Codes pages. There are now nearly twice as many codes listed here than on any other site, nearly 10,000 in fact. Please check it out and don’t forget to bookmark this site if you haven't already.
Not only that but I have also completely revamped the MOSFET Cross Reference pages as well.

Just added 2 new pages, Franchised Distributors and Pt100 Resistances
The Franchised distributors page will hopefully help you to find suppliers of current production components or at least the franchisees should be able to help you with an alternative if it has gone out of production.
The Pt100 page is a table of temperatures with equivalent Pt100 probe resistances which I hope that you will find useful.

29/01/05 To help with page loading times, I have removed and archived previous updates to

04/01/05 I have been making a lot of minor changes through out the site and made an extensive revamp of the SMD code marking pages. You can view them here SMD Code Marking

24/11/04 I have just added a page of links under the HOBBY section, primarily this will contain links to other enthusiasts sites.
It's a bit sparse at the moment so if you know of a deserving site or run your own site, why not email me with the details?

29/08/04 My apologies for not updating the SMD pages recently, but as you will see I have been hard at work creating the new MOSFET pages. These pages cross reference over 3000 MOSFET devices and give the nearest equivalent where possible.
Click MOSFETs to go directly to the start page.

I have just added a page to help in the selection of zener diodes. Its a table of the common types that are available through RS and Farnell and is arranged in order of power. You can find it in the Hobby / Diode page under the Zener diode section.

19/08/04
I have just added a new page under the Hobby section for MOSFETs.

22/07/04
I have added scroll bars to the SMD pin-out popups, as it is the easiest way to reveal the diagram. I have had to do this because the (0Catch) adds were pushing the pictures off screen.

07/07/04
Just added, new 3 phase electrical wiring page, to deal with the new European harmonisation of electrical wiring. I will add to this page further in the future but for now the important issue is there for you to read and learn.

If you have not tried it out yet, the Google search is ace, you really do get the exact same results as if you were on the Google site itself. If you are a little sceptical, as I was at first, just give it a go I know that you will be impressed, just remember to click the Google radio button first. If you would like to set this page as your Homepage just click here.
The SMD area of my site has taken off in a big way and is now the most visited part of this site, I am continuing to update the information just as often as I can.

28/05/04
As you will have noticed, I have removed the Hotbot search box and replaced it with the superior Google search box. Superior because it can search this site as well as Google just click the relevant radio button to make your choice.

27/05/04
I have just added a link for Doom.com you will need to give an email address to obtain a weeks free trial of this site but I think you will find it worth while for the harder to find datasheets.

25/05/04
A NEW LOOK....Yes I have finally taken the plunge and revamped this page in the style of the rest of this site I will re-do the drives section soon, hope you like it. Just hover your mouse over the buttons at the top you will get all the links that you had before. If you can't see any buttons under the CliveTEC Electronic resources then you have javascript turned off. But dont worry you still have access to the whole of my site with the exception of parts of the Drives section which will be remedied soon.
All the links that you are missing are in the text of Getting the most from this site

09/05/04
I recently added a section on SMD device identification, with over 3600 devices listed as well as a special section on MELF / SOD-80 diode colour band identification, I know it will be great benefit to all and I am updating these pages continually.

12/04/04
The EDUCATIONAL / HOBBY section is now well underway and I hope will be a useful source of information for anyone interested in electronics. I am continuing to add pages to the EDUCATIONAL / HOBBY section. These will include pages on resistors, capacitors, diodes, transistors, ICs etc and package details for both standard and surface mount devices (SMD). So far I have completed the Resistor, Capacitor, Diode and now the Transistor pages as well as placing links to the SMD identification pages.
