Welcome to the MOSFET Cross Reference and tutorial page.
MOSFETs, Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor are also known as IGFETs Insulated Gate Field Effect Transistor. They are a type of Field Effect Transistor (FET) that opperates in a similar way to a Junction Field Effect Transistor (JFET). A MOSFET does not require the large input current of a bipolar transistor. The main distinction is that in a MOSFET the gate voltage is applied across the metal oxide insulater rather than across the P-N junction. Like bipolar transistors that come in either NPN or PNP varieties MOSFETs can be either N-channel or P-channel.

Leads are identified as Gate, Source, and Drain.

The MOSFET Cross Reference contains nearly 4000 MOSFETs, click on the appropriate part number start above.
